I Actually Have Updates!

7.23.10

And now for the good stuff. We have two new affies, Lavie and Bravey. We might have another, I'm not sure yet. I edited the FAQ and About Me pages (thank God I got around to that!) and I visited all the affies. I also had an affie cleanout, and our deleted is beginning to look longer than those who remain (uh-oh...). I've been spending a lot of time at my affie Star's website, chatting with her members. They're quite fun. In my precious free time, I have been procrastinating/worrying about my summer homework *cringe*. I have also been getting bazillions of Avatar: The Last Airbender DVDs from the library. And then watching them at home. It's sort of become a new obsession. Well, I hope I have more updates later. Bye, guys!

The Last Airbender

7.11.10

I got to see Avatar: The Last Airbender yesterday. The new movie based off the cartoon. I actually never saw the cartoon, though I wanted to... However, the movie was pretty awesome. I'm a sucker for drama. The narrated beginning with scrolling words (hello Star Wars) was slightly cheesy, and the asian symbols against a red backdrop with people doing some sort of martial arts definitely made me unsure. I think it was the pathetic simple red backdrop. My mom knows the guy who directed the orchestra from college (hahaha). The music wasn't bad, it just needed to be in a few more places. Anyway, I really liked the movie. It reminded me of Warriors, what with the Water, Fire, Earth, and Air tribes (Riverclan, ShadowClan, ThunderClan, and WindClan). And then the whole StarClan/Spirit World thing. And the way Princess Yue sacrificed herself was a lot like Feathertail. It was also reminiscent of Star Wars--I already noted scrolling words in the beginning. Another example would be how, well, it's a whole different world from ours. Or at least different cultures. And then there's pretty princesses have crazy hair similarity. Princess Yue reminded me a whole lot of Queen Amidala--fancy robes, loopy hair, sole female leaders, ohsonearly perfect... Hey. Random criticism: Katara and Sokka found the avatar way too early in the movie. It just wasn't that convincing. Sorry! Random Fact: If I had to pick a favorite character, I'd pick either Katara or Princess Yue (girl power!). Princess Yue is kind and perfect and totally pretty, while Katara is down to earth, and well-meaning and is the last waterbender in her tribe. Well. I have to go. I am being forced against my will to do *cue scary music* SUMMER HOMEWORK. As if it get worse, it's SUMMER MATH HOMEWORK. Oh, horror of horrors. Goodbye. Save me. Anything. *ack* I'm dyyyyiiiing *ackackack*

Programming Camp

7.9.10

I got to take a full-day programming camp for a week. Supercool, no? It was pretty interesting, I made a nice little Mad Libs program (with a graphic! The teacher was impressed by my photoshop skillz =D lol). I must say I still prefer CSS and HTML ;D. Anyway.

Super-Awesomest Hero Trios of ALL TIME

1. Percy Jackson, backup: Grover (best bud) and Annabeth (genius female lead) of Camp Half-Blood
2. Harry Potter, backup: Ron Weasley (oh them besties) and Hermione (bookworm female lead) of Hogwarts
3. Firepaw/heart/star, backup: Graypaw/stripe (buddies!) and Sandstorm (love interest, female lead) of ThunderClan

So here's the formula: wonderfully perfect and humble male hero (Percy's special, he's humble but not perfect) plus goofy male sidekick plus know-it-all (Sandstorm is a somewhat) female love interest (ok, so Hermione is RON's love interest. I don't care. Whatev. See? I left out the "er". That means I care so little I cannot be bothered to write out the whole word. Ha ha ha.) So ya wanna write a book that will most definitely rock? Make an out-of-this-world adventure (cat world, wizard world, mythology world) using this formula. You could git rich!
